Safety & Candle Care
At Gemma, each candle is carefully crafted to elevate your everyday rituals.
To ensure the safest and most beautiful burn, please follow these guidelines:
Before Lighting
Trim the wooden wick to 3–5mm before each burn
Remove any loose pieces of wood or debris inside the candle
Place your candle on a heat-safe, stable surface away from drafts
First Burn
Let the wax melt fully to the edges (about 2–3 hours)
This prevents tunneling and ensures an even, long-lasting burn.
While Burning
Burn for 2–4 hours max at a time
Never leave a lit candle unattended
Keep away from children, pets, curtains, and flammable objects
Do not burn candles next to each other — keep 10cm distance
If the flame becomes too high, extinguish and trim the wick
Extinguishing
Use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame
Do not use water to extinguish a candle
After Use
Allow wax to cool completely before touching or moving the candle
Keep wick trimmed for next use
Stop using when 5–10mm of wax remains
Reuse Your Vessel
Once your candle is finished, the vessel lives on 🤍
To reuse:
Let the vessel cool
Remove remaining wax gently
Wash with warm soapy water
Reuse as a cup, planter, vase, or storage — the choice is yours
We believe beauty should last — a candle is just the beginning.
